  Clarification on child abuse

  i remember some months ago reading on jw.org about the issue with child abuse.

  i tried to find it last night but couldn't.

  so if anybody has a link to it can you post it.

  When I was a elder in the 3 congregation I served in I knew a total of 12 witnesses all adults that was victim of child abuse as a child in the cult. None of them took anyone to court. My youngest sons wife was involved in a big child abuse case in FL back in the 90's. It was in all the newspapers and local TV news for many weeks. That was the first time our body of elders ever got a letter from the Wt. on how to handle news reporters if they come to our congregation and ask questions. This child abuse was taking place 4 congregation south of us. About 20 miles from our congregation. My youngest sons wife was 8 years old at the time. This guy was the devil himself. He went to jail. But serveral years later he was released. He did get back in that congregation again. After all you have to forgive him. sick, sick, sick. So he got the chance to rape some more children. He finally died just a few years ago. At any rate what I am saying their are many victims out there more than you think but many of these rapist are not brought out or the police take over and take care of them. Most of the victims would not even think of taking the Wt. to court. Still Totally ADD

  Who will run the "earthly organization" after GB is raptured?

  i guess the gb feels after they are raptured that their work is done since the new scrolls will be open by yhwh.. oh wait my bad - it will be by the local elders since they said a few wt studies ago that in so many words you better listen to the elders whether it makes sense or not.. if power and the use of the internet after armaggdon will pretty much be dead since those who operate it will be gone-.

  My wife ask me a good question about this the other day. Why does anyone have to go to heaven? Can't god do all the things needed without help? After all he created everything. He understands everything about us humans. Why 144,000? I was told former humans know very will what humans think and feel. But wait a minute does god know all that. Sorry went off subject.   well... as they say on talk back radio "i'm a long time listener, first time caller"(poster in this case!).

  i have been a "lurker" for several years, but never had the courage to take the step and join up...until now.. i really want to thank everyone for their insights and comments throughout the forum.

  although i have not contibuted to discussions, i have benefitted very much from all of your comments and observations on all topics.

  Is there going to be a Borg anymore.?

  i find this hard to express properly but it seems to me that the rate of change is getting so rapid that nothing will be left of anything recognisable.

  we used to say that any one coming back after 50 years would not recognise the "truth".. the entity existing now is totally different from 10 years ago.

  it seems reasonable to suppose that this will continue to the point that nothing before 2010 will be safe to read for joe publisher (or possibly 'local instructor') so that he isn't corrupted or confused by old light.

  i wondered how fast the wt publications used the word "soon"... as in expectation of some prophecy or fulfillment.... eight pages into the first watchtower... july 1879.... "our design has been to present to the body of christ, "the chaste virgin" church, which expects soon to go in to the marriage and become christ's bride, a selection of sacred songs especially adapted to her condition and expressive of her desires and hopes.".

  Yes that's right Reopened Mind and me have been married 40 years ago today. We had a little party today at our UU congregation. We brought wine for the pot luck dinner we had today. We even had our vow's renewed. You should have seen the love from everyone. No how did you do in field service today or what assembly are you going to. Just how lucky we was to have found each other. Many hugs and well wishes from everyone. We even got a card in the mail from friends in our congregation who go to France every winter. It was a very special day for the both of us. No the kids did not even send us a card or call but our circle of friends made up for that.

  It got me to thinking about our lifes. When we first got married in our vows it was mentions that we will remain married until god ends marriage for mankind. Also I don't know how many times we was told we will not grow old together in this system or have children or even grand children. All these things others had at that time but we by their speech was being denied these pleasure. At the time I thought that was not fair. Will here we are 60 plus years old, kid's grown up, grand kids and we are looking at getting SS benifits in 6 years. Yes we have to be 66 years old for us. And yet life goes on and this system is still here.

  One friend of mine ask me today how I found such a wonderful wife? I thought for a few seconds and said "Dumb Luck". But it was the best dumb luck anyone could ever have. We even had a toast at our party today. Wow!!! How life has changed. Will my love all I can say is thank you for putting up with me all these years. I love you and I hope we can be around for our 80th year of marriage. Thank you all for being here to help us see the light and best wishes to all. Still Totally ADD

  Avoid Going back to the JW's - Educate Yourself about Mind Control

  i've talked with some good friends on the board about this before and we seem to be in agreement : one reason ( among many ) that some disfellowshipped jw's go back and return to the wt organization is because they are full of uneeded guilt or uneeded fear because they haven't educated themselves about how the wt society uses mind control tactics to deceive them into thinking they have " nowhere else to go " .

  i understand that some dfed ones may go back to the organization for family and friends- however- it's an exrecise in futility because once you learn the truth about the truth you cannot undo what you heard.

  so some may just go back and live a fake jw life to appease family- but just think of how that can damage a person's emotional and mental health playing the fake jw game the rest of their lives !

  Hello flipper,

  Very good quesiton. When I left we told our children that we are changing our family life course and not be any part of this cult. At the time they was with us but gulit and the Wt. Mind Control overtook them. My wife and I are the lucky ones for we would not cave into this cult like thinking. I personally am hell bent on stopping this cult thinking in our family. My biggest hope that our children will wake up. It may take years put I feel it will happen. In ten years our grand children will be young adults and I feel they will come see us and ask why we was not part of their life. I will tell them what happen but to as you said educate yourself about mind control cults and run as fast as you can. I know I am very hopeful but that hope does keep me going. In my wildest dreams I would never go back to the JW cult. Being a elder all those years I know to much and seen to much to even consider going back. Besides I am really enjoying my life now. Trying to help people with my knowledge of gardening and Reopened Mind teaching people about wild herbs. We are meeting people who have the same interest we have. In all the years I was in the cult no one and I mean no one had our interest in these things. The ones we knew were just drones of the cult and could less about anything else. For those sitting of the fence all I have to say is please don't go back to the Wt. cult. You will truly lose your soul if you do. Still Totally ADD

  New requirement to be Recommended

  per co last night, he mentioned in his talk that in oder for a brother to be recommended as an elder or ministrial servant he must have a regular and meaningful family worship night.

  this will demostrate his willingness not to miss that important meeting and preside over his household.. so i thought, wow what a way to add to the "inspired" biblical list of qualifications.

  serving jehovah is sounding more and more and more organizational..

  That not really a new recommendation. They always wanted those who could be elder's to have a family study. They just use a new term for it. Family worship night. Sounds for much better that having a family study. After all that is why they stop the Monday/Tuesday night book studies so now a family can have a night to delve deeper in the cult teaching. LOL Still Totally ADD
